Not more than a minute long.
Back in 19 December 2007, UP Diliman celebrated the annual Lantern Parade. That night, this was shown and all they had featured were floats from the College of Fine Arts, as though only they deserved air time. Where was ours? lantern.avi (2.3 MB)
| Start: | Dec 19, '07 3:00p | | Location: | Academic Oval, UP Diliman |
Floats made by the Fine Arts people and others will circulate the Academic Oval and end with consecutive performances at Quezon Hall by the participants themselves. This year's theme: Tribute to the national artists
| | 2:30 AM -- Hadn't slept, took a shower directly, and went a little past 3 AM. Slept in the car all the way to a two-hour-away province (but possibly took less time from the lack of what we call "traffic").
The parade went until around half past 10. Mostly were of random people in unifying shirts or costumes, strutting themselves off. Relatively few Higantes, which disappointed me. Overheard from a kid that she thought the parade was boring. :P
Had been splashed and shot, as it has been their tradition to make passers-by feel at home by getting them to screech with unexpected shock from the coldness of the water, surprisingly an inviting feeling of the typical Filipino hospitality. They seem to target those who cower from being their next victim, like my sister and her co-worker were. I was more than happy to get wet along with the townspeople.
