2:30 AM -- Hadn't slept, took a shower directly, and went a little past 3 AM. Slept in the car all the way to a two-hour-away province (but possibly took less time from the lack of what we call "traffic").
The parade went until around half past 10. Mostly were of random people in unifying shirts or costumes, strutting themselves off. Relatively few Higantes, which disappointed me. Overheard from a kid that she thought the parade was boring. :P
Had been splashed and shot, as it has been their tradition to make passers-by feel at home by getting them to screech with unexpected shock from the coldness of the water, surprisingly an inviting feeling of the typical Filipino hospitality. They seem to target those who cower from being their next victim, like my sister and her co-worker were. I was more than happy to get wet along with the townspeople.
Not part of event. Had to include.
I find them pretty, all right?
Had breakfast at a humble street eatery.
I had pancit, as Chinese as usual.
My sister fixing herself up, duh.
This is how I look before anything else.
Proof of our co-existence.
In car, being awkward I was.
Balloon-things--common sight in fiestas.
Waiting. Taking pictures.
Chasing. Cautious for battery shortage.
So I was then excited for the Higantes.
I had been anxious since last year.
And this was my chance to go, finally!
I was in Angono, the heart of art.
T'was a spectacularly normal sight.
People soon came around, water pistols
on their hands. These sellables I think
are always around like jeepneys.
Still letting time pass, as I was enjoy-
ing my being there, half-asleep.
As though I were in a dream.
But the water-splashing kept us awake.
These are like, all throughout the stree
t. This is how I was seeing things, nah.
Regular Spanish-descended houses.
As with everywhere in the Phils. *heart*
I love converging parallels. /finearts
Quite the sensation of distance it is.
What eez zees? Photography testing.
Whatever I find pretty, I take.
Hanging decoration abound in fiestas.
Tricycles are popular too.
This looks intricately done. Me likies.
Home of a national musician, I think.
Walking inanimate objects.
They held Mass before starting.
Why do we feel holy by a church?
